Home.Made Catering From Scratch

Mom and I had a girls night out tonight. We went to Home.Made Catering From Scratch grand opening event in Athens. We tasted favorites from their special events menu. Everything was D.I.V.I.N.E! Mimi, the chef and owner of Home.Made, is famous for sewanee bites.
A spicy pimento cheese spread is sandwiched between two cheese straws then topped with pecans. My mom said they were heavenly. I snagged one for Alex to try at home. He loved them also!

Mimi, spent the past six years working directly under award winning chef Hugh Acheson, as Catering Director & Executive Sous Chef at the critically acclaimed 5&10 restaurant in Athens, Georgia. Her new venture seems to be off to a great start.

Little Boy Blue - Party Inspiration Board

I'd like to introduce Merideth Blaike readers to Inspiration Board Friday.

Inspiration boards are the best way to begin the party planning, design, redesign, or remodeling process.  Inspirations boards can even help with scrapbooking ideas or the design of a new wardrobe collection. The possibilites are endless. They help organize ideas, colors, texture, and patterns.

MB Inspiration Board Friday will be random. The boards will be fun. They will be creative. And we promise, each board is originally crafted and created by our team. Each item featured in the boards can be purchased online or in store at the credited retailers. Just click on the board and you will be routed to stylemepretty.com. You will then be able to to see the origin of each items on the board. What you choose to do after that is your choice. As always, our team only paves the way for your individual creativity to flourish.

Rough Day...Yay for FRIDAY!

What a day...getting car blocked in, sending e-mails to myself instead of intended recipients, debit card randomly quits working, forgetting to follow dermatologists orders - resulting in huge blisters covering three of my fingers...painful, sleeping without sheets - put sheets in dryer, forgot to turn dryer on.

Although today wasn't the best, I am looking forward to a new inspiring Friday. I wouldn't mind adding these pieces to my wardrobe. Every wardrobe should be spotted with a little fur. Fur makes any outfit feel a more playful...perfect for Friday's!

6 of Four

I fell in love with this photo when I saw it this morning. I found this company by searching for letterpress studios in Atlanta. Check out 6offour.com. They have recently diversified their portfolio by adding a letterpress and invitation company. Although photography is their speciality, it looks as though they are going to be offering some exciting, creative products as far as stationary, invitations, save-the-dates, and personalized items are concerned. And who doesn't love letter press. Check out their new company's website at farmwoodpress.com

I wish I had my own custom...

Via Vogue Gallery

The color of this bag is perfect. It blends with any outfit. It is a great grab and go, work bag. And who wouldn't enjoy a custom bag from Fendi with their initials monogrammed on the bag.
There is nothing wrong with monogramming even the swankiest couture...as long as it's done tastefully.

Hey Gals! Valentine's Day for your Guy...SOLVED!

Zoom ImageKNIFE BOXYou can have just the AU logo (pictured on the shirt below) or the national championship logo (pictured above) placed on a hand carved box (pictured above). The boxes come in a variety of sizes and finishes. They are made to order. The box above is a custom box for another customer. I am simply using it for example purposes. These make great Valentine gifts for guys, husbands, and boyfriends. Don't waste your time on chocolate. They don't like it. They also don't appreciate sappy cards...at least mine doesn't. They can throw their remotes in this, place their personal stuff in it, etc..When my dad got his box for Christmas I thought the recent AU graduate in our family was going to have a heart attack because he wanted a box so bad!! I'm not exaggerating. His girlfriend is having his made for Valentine's Day!

Zoom Image

I almost forgot...this is not only a great gift for the guys. My girlfriends that have received boxes from me in the past adore them. They have since ordered customer toy boxes for their children, customer wooden canoes for lake homes, customer hope chests with anniversary dates initialed on top, and various other gifts to celebrate and remember joyous occasions in their lives. This is a gift that stays in a family for many generations. I call it a treasure.

Call me at 706-499-5234 so I can get your order in. They are handmade and the workshop can only handle so many. Plus...I get a special deal if I refer you since I am family! I know you all love savings!

Bible or Book holder

I am inspired by this idea. This is a great way to invite special guests to a rehearsal dinner or a farewell brunch the day after the wedding ceremony takes place. I took this idea from the lovely and talented Ohsobeautifulpaper.

I LOVE fabric

I grabbed this from Ohsobeautifulpapers. They have lovely ideas.

Linen-Fabric-Stitched-Save-the-Dates
Linen-Fabric-Stitched-Save-the-Dates Linen-Fabric-Stitched-Save-the-Dates
This would be perfect for a more casual rustic wedding...even a French countryside event. I see the linen fabric as very outdoorsy and casual, which is perfectly acceptable for a save-the-date card. Remember, save-the-date card's should compliment the color palette and theme of a wedding or event, but still leave room for personal pizzaz and personality.
Linen-Fabric-Stitched-Save-the-Dates Linen-Fabric-Stitched-Save-the-Dates
This multi-layed invitation has a laid back, natural look and feel. The fabric is linen. It is hand-stamped. I LOVE anything that is stamped right now. This could be composed of all organic materials...always keep that in mind. Organic is VERY natural. Stay away from stark white if you are going for a more rustic look. It is a good idea to stay with a warmer color palette for rustic, natural themes. The invitation is sewn together by hand, displaying a more organic and personal touch. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

Do Something Different at Your Wedding...No one else ever does.

MEDIUM MEMORY TRUNK

My Friends locked up a letter they each wrote to the other during their wedding ceremony. The letters were to be opened on their 10th anniversary or before if their marriage was ever in complete distress and read aloud to each other. I actually really liked this idea. There are TONS of stupid, corny things out there that people do or give each other on their wedding day. Why not do something that is memorable and means something? Think about it.

How bad do you want it?

Made the "Old Fashioned" way...BY HAND. Every piece is different. Yea, you'll be the only one on your block with it.
This box is handcrafted in an old abandoned school house in the mountains. Thankfully, a former Eagle Scout, with a distinctive eye found favor with the dilapidated building. He purchased and restored the building...developing his passion for handcrafted furniture and heirlooms along the way. Who cares about the dimensions...if you want it... call.
